Cal Poly Pomona was recognized by Money Magazine as one of the “Best Colleges in America, Ranked by Value 2022.” The university ranked No. 28 nationally based on quality, affordability, and alumni outcomes.
More than 600 private and public institutions were analyzed for this year’s rankings. CPP was also listed at No. 15 among “Best Colleges in the West” and No. 24 among “Best Public Colleges.”
In the university’s profile, the magazine notes the university’s “learn by doing approach” and “unexpected opportunities” as well as “a graduation rate…higher than expected based on schools with comparable student demographics and higher than expected early career salaries.”
For Jrielle Sullivan-Giles (’22, biotechnology), affordability and reputation informed her decision to pursue her studies at Cal Poly Pomona. She identified “low cost, credibility and work opportunities” as major draws, alongside the campus’ beauty and proximity to her hometown of West Covina.
“I was offered a complete package of financial aid, and the commute was short from where I live,” she said.
In 2020, the Cal Poly Pomona was ranked No. 10 in Money Magazine’s “These are the 10 Most Transformative Colleges in the U.S., recognizing the university’s 71% graduation rate and early career earnings of $55,000 that were higher than expected based on schools with comparable student demographics. In 2022, those figures showed their upward trajectory — 75% graduation rate and early career earnings of $63,730.
